Troop 103 was founded in 2005 and is sponsored by St Simon Catholic Church in Los Altos. We are part of the Pacific Skyline Council. We draw scouts from Sunnyvale to Palo Alto with the goal of enabling our scouts to have fun in a healthy environment, to explore the outdoors, and to develop personal skills and gain leadership experience.
Troop 103 has overnight outings every month (except December) and there are no limits on how many scouts can attend. Examples of our outing include snow camping, kayaking, fishing, beach camping, hiking, biking, rock-climbing and rafting. We also visit high-tech facilities in Silicon Valley such as HP Aviation and defense contractor BAE Systems. In addition, the troop attends a week-long summer camp at Camp Oljato in the Sierra Nevada.
The scouts in Troop 103 who are friendly, open, and always willing to lend a helping hand. The Troop 103 service projects include Memorial Day Flag decorating at Golden Gate Nat'l Cemetery, Scouting for Food, and volunteering at Kiwanis Tree Lot. We have dedicated adult leaders with broad-based leadership and experience.
